Being Shy

Stop self-sabotaging.

Sometimes we really are our own worst enemy. Don't allow your inner critic to put you down. Instead, analyze the power of that voice so you can defuse it.

Know your strengths.

Make a list of all your positive qualities--enlist a friend or family member to help if you need to--and read or recite it when you're feeling insecure. Let it remind you how much you have to offer.

Take small steps.

Don't immediately sign up to give a presentation in a huge auditorium — start smaller. Join a club or organization on campus. Look for something less intimidating. Start in a smaller group and work your way up.

Friends

Look for a group that is friendly and non-competitive, and something that you enjoy and feel confident about.

Stop Caring.

Be yourself and do the things you enjoy.  The world is filled with endless judgment and the reality is that there will always be someone out there who disagrees with you or looks down upon the things you do. Why spend so much time worrying about that when you can be enjoying yourself by being the unique person you are.

Use This Platform!!

If you can't seem to push yourself to do these things then start out simple. When it happens that you need some help in your course then hit up a fellow student and ask for the notes or the homework assignment. The next day thank them in person and if repeated enough you will be less timid around them.
